Eight to the Bar

Friday September 10th - 7 PM

Drawing its musical influences from American roots music – swing, boogie woogie, classic Motown, and a little bit of blues, Eight to the Bar is known for its outstanding instrumentalists; (sax player Collin Tilton was Van Morrison’s original sax/flute player and played on his epic quadruple-platinum-selling “Moondance” album) and sophisticated musical and vocal arrangements, highlighted by female vocals. They’ve been awarded decades of accolades, the latest being “Best Overall Band 2018” by CT Now Hartford Readers’ Poll.

With the support of independently produced albums and videos, Eight to the Bar has cultivated a large, enthusiastic following that has put them in clubs from Maine to Miami as well as the West Coast, Europe and the Caribbean. Their rigorous performing schedule has included opening spots for Manhattan Transfer, Robert Cray, Neil Young, the late Ray Charles, several European tours and a recent tour of the Republic of Georgia at the invitation of the U.S. Embassy located there.

Currently the group is working on its 13th CD.
